What is my ‘Activation Code’?
Your activation code is the unique code assigned to each voter for each election or vote you are eligible to participate in.
Will I need to remember my ‘Activation Code’ after I activate my account?
No, once you activate your account you can discard your activation code. You will be assigned a new code for your next vote or election
What if I misplace or forget my activation code before I activate my account?
You may call your election administrator and they can reset your code
I have activated my account, but I cannot remember my password.
No problem, you can always receive a new activation code by either clicking on the ‘forgot activation’ code link from the voting page and entering your username and email address on file or by calling your election administrator
May I change my username?
No, your username is generated by Votenet and is a unique value which cannot be changed
I’ve already cast my ballot but I have changed my mind.
Due to changes in the Department of Labor’s regulations regarding electronic voting and subsequent changes to the AFA-CWA Constitution & Bylaws, once a ballot has been cast it cannot be changed. Eligibility to vote will be determined prior to the ballot mailing. Those who are eligible to vote at this time will remain eligible throughout the ballot period. Those who are ineligible at the time of the mailing can still make themselves eligible to vote by becoming dues current.
Can someone else see how I voted?
No, no one has access to how you voted.
Can anyone see the results of a vote before the end date of the vote?
Neither AFA nor the third party voting site can determine who has voted, nor how anyone has voted. There’s no way to see the status of the vote at all. The only report that the voting company can generate is total participation numbers. However, the participation is not posted publicly until all voting is concluded.
I have logged in and I see or hear a message that says there are no active elections at this time.
You will hear this message if you have attempted to access a ballot before its opening date or after it has closed. You will also hear it if you are not eligible to vote on any ballots that are currently in progress. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your election administrator.
What type of security has Votenet applied to their voting system to ensure that my vote is protected?
Votenet goes through routine vulnerability and penetration assessments and testing from hacking experts to ensure that malicious scripts and hackers can’t interfere with your voting events. In addition we have the following certifications or partners:
i. Hyperion Security Audit; Interfor Physical Security Certification; SAS70 Type II data center with 24-hour surveillance, electricity backup and N+1 redundancy; VeriSign Secured; McAfee Secure; TRUSTe Certified; Safe Harbor Certified
